Armin van Buuren, Chef'Special - Larger Than Life

Armin van Buuren and Chef'Special joined forces for Larger Than Life, the official anthem for the Dutch national football team's UEFA EURO 2024 campaign. The track combines Van Buuren's electronic production with Chef'Special's energetic sound and feateres vocals from the Dutch national team, creating an anthem built around unity, ambition and the belief that anything is possible.

Together with Bob Sandee, Merijn contributed to the production of the track. A central part of the production was the development of a layered guitar wall of sound. Alongside the guitars, Merijn worked with synthesizers, basses and the drums, contributing to the overall arrangement and helping build the track further.

The song reached number 11 in the Dutch Top 40, remained in the chart for 19 weeks and achieved Gold certification.

Alex "Poatan" Pereira for Arte

Arte presents a limited capsule collection in collaboration with Alex Pereira, released alongside an exclusive short film. Also known as Poatan, Pereira is one of the most dominant combat athletes of his generation, known for his devastating power and remarkable rise to the top. Behind the champion lies a quieter story, shaped by hardship, discipline and self-belief. In the intimate short film, Pereira reflects on the experiences that forged him and the mental process that carries him into every fight.

For the film, Merijn developed the film's sound design and ambient textures, creating a sonic world that supports the film's intimate and introspective narrative. He began with a series of instrumental recordings made using guitar pedals and tape machines, generating organic source material that formed the foundation of the composition. These recordings were later expanded with synthesizers and foley, adding depth, movement and detail to the final soundscape.

Nick Schilder - Shatterproof LP

Nick Schilder's debut solo album Shatterproof marks a new chapter for the Dutch singer-songwriter following seventeen years as part of Nick & Simon.

Moving into a more personal and electronic sound, the album brings together dance tracks and intimate acoustic moments, reflecting a period of change, reinvention and finding a new creative identity. Across the record, Schilder explores the space between singer-songwriter vulnerability and electronic production, c reating a sound that feels both deeply personal and forward-looking. Together with Bob Sandee, Merijn produced four tracks on the album: the title track Shatterproof, Dancin' Alone, Moonlight to Sunrise, and Time Stops (When You're With Me).

The productions were built through a process of creating, recording, sampling, and reshaping musical material to form the foundations of each track. Drums, synthesizers, additional guitars and creative vocal production were used to develop the sonic identity of the songs. The focus was on creating productions that support the emotional weight of Nick's songwriting while giving each track its own sonic character.

The song Shatterproof reached number 31 in the Dutch top 40 and remained in the chart for 12 weeks.

Nifemi for Arte

For its Autumn/Winter 2026 campaign, Arte explores the enduring traditions of African craftsmanship, drawing inspiration from weathered metals, architectural details and objects shaped by time. Photographed in Lagos, Nigeria, the campaign was partly shot in the atelier of industrial designer Nifemi Marcus-Bello, whose material-driven practice reflects the collection's focus on texture, process and honest materials.

The accompanying film's score was built primarily from guitar recordings processed through a Chase Bliss Mood pedal and reel-to-reel tape. Keeping overdubs to a minimum allowed the recordings to retain the character of the original performances, which were later cut and reshaped to complement the visuals and dialogue. The dialogue, originally recorded on a phone, was carefully preserved while being refined to sit naturally within the final soundscape.

Danga, Amo Achille - How We Do It

How We Do It marks the third collaboration between Belgian artists Danga and Amo Achille. The idea for the song began with a simple loop and vocal melody before evolving into a house-driven club track with a distinct indie edge. The song balances dancefloor energy with the raw, melodic character that runs through the artists' work.

Merijn helped shape the track from its initial idea into its final form.

Juliet Fox, Teneya - Now Or Never

Now Or Never is a high-energy techno collaboration between Juliet Fox and Teneya. Driven by a relentless bassline and a powerful vocal hook, the track builds towards the kind of full-throttle energy designed for the peak moments of a rave.

The idea started with a writing session developing the original vocal together with Teneya and Panteros666. From there, the song was reworked into a fast-paced techno production with Juliet Fox.

Klankkunst

Klankkunst grew out of Ditch Your Pitch, a pitching night organised by Cultuur Verbindt Roosendaal, where Merijn presented the idea for a local sound art project. His winning pitch developed into an eight-week workshop programme, bringing together local composers, sound artists and music producers to experiment with sound, sampling and composition.

Founded and led by Merijn, the project focused on pushing participants beyond their usual ways of working and encouraging their more unusual, playful and experimental ideas. Through workshops, coaching and feedback sessions, these ideas were developed into original compositions, which were ultimately presented during Equinox, a nighttime cultural event taking place throughout the centre of Roosendaal.
